Student Faq's
- Can I book from September to December only?
– No we only accept bookings for the full academic year.
- How are flat mates allocated?
– We will do our best to match you with a the preferences you select when booking online. If you have any specials requests add this to the comments box and we will do our best to accommodate you. If you wish to share with a friend put this on your application form and there should be no problem finding you an apartment together.
- How can I book a room at Gateway?
– You can apply and pay your deposit here on our website. Just click on the book page, alternatively fill our the online booking form and send the payment by post or bank transfer. After completion of the online booking form you will receive an email with details of alternative payment methods if you have no credit card etc.
- What must I have before check-in?
– 2 passport photos, signed tenancy agreement and the balance of accommodation paid
- I have paid the €200 booking deposit, when do I pay other fees owed?
– The €400 services fees and €400 Electricity allowance fee plus accommodation fees are due before arrival and must be paid before checkin or on arrival.
- How is electricity charged?
– Prepaid electricity meters are installed in each apartment and each student will be supplied with prepaid meter vouchers from their €400 electricity allowance. It is up to the occupants of the apartment to share meter top-ups between them. If you do not use all your allowance it will be returned to you along with your security deposit pending no damages etc at the end of the academic year.
- Can I have friends staying over?
- – Occasionally yes, but not on a regular basis.
- Are the beds double or Single?
– In a 2 person apartment both rooms have double beds, in a 3 person apartment the single room has a double and the twin room has a double and single bed.
- Are there apartment checks?
– Yes, but you will be given notice when they are to be carried out.
- Is there Internet connection in the apartment?
– All bedrooms come with a wired internet connection.
- Is bed linen supplied?
– Only for international students, otherwise you must bring your own.
- Can I stay over Christmas?
– Yes this is no problem once you let reception know.
- Are there laundry facilities on site?
– No, all apartments come fitted out with washer/dryer machine
- Is there a shop on site?
– No, but a shop with a fully serviced deli counter is just across the road.
- Is there security on site?
– Yes, and complex is CCTV protected.
- Are pets allowed?
– Pets are not allowed in the apartments
- When is the booking deposit refunded?
– If you have a deposit refund due it will be refunded within 5 weeks of departure less any deductions for electricity overruns or damage.
- What do I do with my rubbish?
– Refuse and recycling bins are located a various points on site.
- Can I park my car here in Gateway?
– Yes, limited parking is available and free to residents only, free parking permit available at checkin.
- Can my friends park their car here while at college?
– No.
- If we have a problem in our apartment what do we do?
– Call directly to our office and our on site maintenance team will rectify the matter as soon as we possible can.
- Is there photo-copying facility on site?
– Yes.
- Can I let friends stay at the week-end when I’m not there myself?
– No, you can not give your key card to anyone to gain access to your apartment.
- Are there fire procedures/fire extinguishers in place in Gateway
– All blocks are fully serviced on a regular basis by professionally trained people who take care of all fire systems in Gateway.
- Do I have a place to study in my apartment?
– Yes, all students have their own study desks in their bedrooms with internet connection.
